Australia is a proud sporting nation. This identity is embedded in the DNA of Australian culture. Sport directly impacts the physical activity of over 75% of all young Australians aged 15 – 17. More significantly, research has demonstrated that sport can serve as a means to promoting social-cohesion in local communities. This aspect of sport is becoming increasingly more important as the challenges young people face are becoming increasingly more complex.
At Game Changers we recognise this power of grassroots sporting clubs and deliberately support them to be powerful places for developing the character and values of young people.
