Game Changers Australia are proud to have partnered with the Rye, Dromana, Rosebud Your Community Bank since 2017

The Your Community Bank Sports Leadership Program is a powerful and transformative experience for young sports people of the Mornington Peninsula region.
The Your Community Bank Sports Leadership Program is a sports leadership program aimed to up-skill and mentor young sports people in preventing negative mental health and becoming the all-round athlete focusing on leadership and resilience on and off the field. We focus on these skills in order to best prepare the new generation of sports leaders to have a lasting positive impact on their local and wider communities.
The program has a unique curriculum based on contemporary research on authentic leadership, resilience, growth mindset and performance. Specifically, the program includes workshops on effective communication, values, strengths and growing edges, public speaking, vulnerability and much more.
Over the past three years, we have delivered three highly successful Programs which have engaged 87 young sports people from across the Mornington Peninsula representing over 30 different sports clubs in the region.

The program is available to young sports people aged 14 -18 from sporting clubs currently sponsored by the Rye, Dromana, Rosebud Your Community Bank.

This is a unique opportunity only available to a small number of clubs.

Please Note:
There are a maximum of 30 places available.
Our organisation is committed to diversity and inclusion, and we encourage you to consider this when nominating candidates. For equal gender representation, we ask that each club looks at nominating the same number of participants from each gender.

The Your Community Bank Sports Leadership Program includes a 5-day residential camp, a Mentor Program, a Community Action Day and a Graduation.

Skippers will attend a 5-day residential camp. Specifically, the program includes workshops on effective communication, values, strengths and growing edges, public speaking, vulnerability and much more.

Skippers will invite someone of influence from their club to be their Mentor for the duration of their program journey. The Mentor will engage in 5 fortnightly workshops with their Skipper. A focus point throughout the sessions are the healthy and unhealthy cultures in sporting clubs and possible ways of improving this.

A showcase of the leadership, communication and teamwork skills the Skippers have learnt throughout the program. Skippers, along with their Mentors, will lead and create an event to engage their entire communities.

An opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the journey that the Skippers and Mentors have been on.

Please Note:
We aim for the program not to overlap with any weekend sport.
It is very important that nominees can commit to 100% of the dates of the program.
If you are interested in being a part of this program, please speak to your club first to get their approval. Nominations then can be made either by the club on behalf of the nominated participant or nominated directly by the participant (or family member).

The value of this program is $1100 per participant.
The Your Community Bank are sponsoring each athlete $1000 to subsidies the cost of their participation.
Each club is required to pay $100 per participant to cover campsite and food costs.

This program requires 100% attendance for all program dates, including camp, fortnightly mentor sessions, Community Action Project and graduation. If you are concerned about this requirement please contact us directly.

It is not required that you have chosen and/or made contact with a mentor prior to the camp. We will run through a session on camp all about the best way to chose your mentor! However, if you know who you would like your mentor to be feel free to make contact with them before camp.

That’s okay! This is a great opportunity to meet like-minded peers and expand your friendship group.

Thanks to Bendigo Bank, this program is subsidised in cost. However, the $100 contribution will cover food and accommodation for the entirety of the program.
